AMETHYST RADIOTHERAPY CENTER IS A PARTNER OF THE XNUMXTH KRAKOW CONFERENCE
Oncological treatment in older people is the main topic of the conference organized on November 14 this year. at the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University. Amethyst Radiotherapy Center is one of the partners of this event.
The XNUMXth Krakow Conference is organized by the Urszula Smok Foundation "Podaruj Życie", which helps people suffering from leukemia and other cancers on a daily basis.. This year's edition will focus on topics addressed to older people and will include, among others: systemic and combined treatment of seniors, palliative care for the elderly and access to geriatric services in Poland. The lecturers will include outstanding specialists in oncology and hematology, including: Marcin Hetnał, MD, PhD, director of the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center, who will discuss the effectiveness and toxicity of radiotherapy in elderly patients. Whereas Dr. Dominika Mękal, specialist dietitian at the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center, will explain the relationship between proper diet and reducing the risk of lifestyle diseases. Free hematology and oncology consultations are provided for seniors, including: By bow. med. Agata Romaniszyn, specialist in oncological radiation therapy at the Center. Registration for consultations will take place on the day of the conference.
The conference was held under the honorary patronage of prof. Ph.D. Piotr Laider, vice-rector of the Jagiellonian University for Collegium Medicum, and prof. Ph.D. Tomasz Grodzicki, dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University - Collegium Medicum.
The project is implemented with financial support from the Government Program for Social Activity of Older People for 2014-2020 and the Municipality of Krakow.
