COMPENDIUM OF RADIOTHERAPY ONCOLOGY IN POLISH

A Polish-language book on oncological radiation therapy has just been published. Several oncology centers from all over Poland, including doctors from the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in Krakow, were involved in the translation and development of this extremely necessary item.

The publication in question is " Compendium of Oncological Radiotherapy " – a Polish-language translation of the book "Pocket Guide to Radiation Oncology" by Daniel D. Chamberlain, James B. Yu, and Roy H. Decker, along with commentaries. Specialists from oncology centers in Warsaw, Białystok, Wrocław, Kraków, Katowice, and Opole, including a team of physicians from the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center, participated in the development of the Polish version. The compendium contains a detailed analysis of specific aspects of radiotherapy for malignant tumors: from the relevant medical literature, through treatment recommendations, technical aspects (e.g., patient positioning simulation, dose specification, target contouring, treatment planning), to post-treatment patient follow-up. It is supplemented by descriptions of selected clinical studies.

The patron of the publishing house is the Polish Society of Oncological Radiotherapy.
