NOT ONLY MEDICATIONS CURE
Thoughts and feelings have a huge impact on the cells of everyone's immune and hormonal systems. To feel better, it is worth looking at your thoughts from a different perspective and activating resources and skills that build mental resilience. These processes are an important complement to medical therapy.
Oncologist and radiologist Carl Simonton, based on his own experience working with patients and analyzing the latest scientific research, created a special type of therapy dedicated to cancer patients. Its goal is to improve patients' lives and reduce the feeling of hopelessness. Simonton's therapy uses work with beliefs and emotions, relaxation and breathing exercises, visualizations and mindfulness training.
A cancer diagnosis is always a profound shock for the patient and their family. However, this difficult and painful crisis of illness is surmountable. Crises often become the initiator of change and a source of growth. Katarzyna Nowak-Ledniowska , a psychologist at the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in Krakow, leads patients in relaxation instruction combined with breathing exercises. She has also prepared a special educational presentation for patients, which is displayed on screens in the Center's waiting room. It can also be viewed here: 2520_036 PP psychology presentation
