FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION OF THE AMETHYST RADIOTHERAPY CENTER

It was an intense and important 12 months. Here is a summary of the first year of operation of the Amethys Radiotherapy Center.

The beginnings were not easy: the Center team together with the staff of the hospital. Rydygiera developed and implemented a system of multi-specialist teams, and in addition, the contract from the National Health Fund for the provision of medical services came only three months after the center's opening. However, the challenges have a motivating effect - the Center operates efficiently, has successfully joined the activities of the Polish health service, and over 3 people received advice and consultations here.

The first year of operation of the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in brief:

  • over 1500 registered patients from all over Małopolska,
  • 1029 people qualified for treatment, of which 958 people completed radiotherapy,
  • 466 patients who underwent modern procedures (stereotaxis, VMAT),
  • 9 interdisciplinary teams dealing with various types of cancer,
  • The Amethyst Radiotherapy Center is the first center in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship that started treating patients using a dynamic technique such as VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy).
