The next Medical Magazine on TVP Kraków will be devoted to brachytherapy, a modern method of cancer treatment.

The weekly Medical Magazine is a program presenting the diagnosis and treatment of diseases performed in medical facilities in Małopolska. The next episode – airing on Wednesday, March 21st at 7:25 a.m. – will discuss brachytherapy. This is a modern cancer radiotherapy technique. It involves treatment using a radiation source placed in direct contact with the tumor. The word "brachy" comes from the Greek and means " nearby ," so brachytherapy is treatment from close proximity.

Materials for the mentioned episode were recorded, among others, at the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center - in the brachytherapy laboratory and the general area of the center. Among the specialists discussing the main topic are members of the Center's team: Dr. Krzysztof Bereza and Dr. Marcin Hetnał, director of the Center. They will explain the use of brachytherapy in the treatment of gynecological and prostate cancer.
