THE KRAKOW CENTER IS ALREADY OPERATING

Patients from Małopolska can now count on modern and faster oncological treatment. Thanks to the recently opened Amethyst Radiotherapy Center, they will have access to the latest radiotherapy techniques and a professional medical team.

The opening of the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in Krakow took place on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. It was accompanied by a medical conference "Multidisciplinary oncology", which gathered many specialists, and the speakers included world-famous and respected experts in the field of radiotherapy, including: professors Ion Christian Kiricuta and Razvan Galalae, as well as the provincial consultant in the field of radiation oncology, prof. Stanisław Korzeniowski.

Right after the seminar and press conference with the participation of representatives of Krakow and industry media, the ceremonial opening of the first Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in Poland took place. It was attended by the deputy marshals of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Wojciech Kozak and Roman Ciepiela, the chairman of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Assembly Kazimierz Barczyk, as well as Wojciech Szafrański, the president of the Specialist Hospital. L Rydygiera, representatives of Amethyst Medical Center and over a hundred invited guests. After cutting the ribbon, all interested parties could visit the center, guided by Barbara Werchowiecka-Rusinek, president of RTCP, and Dr. Marcin Hetnał, head of the Krakow Center. They could watch, among others: a radiotherapy clinic, examination rooms, a teleradiotherapy laboratory (with three modern Elekta Synergy accelerators) and a simulator with two computed tomography scanners, a waiting room for patients and a multimedia conference room for doctors.

The Amethyst Radiotherapy Center is located in the immediate vicinity of the Specialist Hospital. L. Rydygier, with whom he works closely. The hospital is one of the largest medical facilities in Małopolska - every fifth patient from this region suffering from malignant tumors undergoes chemotherapy here. The Specialist Hospital has well-developed oncological surgery and chemotherapy, and thanks to the launch of the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center, it has become a full-profile oncology center. Patients will receive comprehensive oncological treatment in one medical center.

The Amethyst Radiotherapy Center in Krakow will admit its first patients on December 16, 2013.
