LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE FOR THE CENTER IN KRAKOW

Another important stage of investment in Krakow is behind us. On Wednesday, April 3, the ceremonial laying of the cornerstone for the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center, which is being built at the Specialist Hospital, took place. Rydygiera.

The guests gathered at the construction site included: Barbara Bulanowska, director of the Lesser Poland branch of the National Health Fund, Kazimierz Barczyk, chairman of the local government assembly of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship and Wojciech Szafrański, president of the management board of the Specialist Hospital. It was also signed by Barbara Werchowiecka-Rusinek, president of RTCP, and president Szafrański.

The construction of the Amethyst Radiotherapy Center started at the end of January this year. The facility will include a modern radiotherapy and brachytherapy facility and a radiotherapy clinic. The center will be equipped with world-class equipment - three accelerators from the Swedish company Elekta and a radiotherapy treatment planning system, enabling the use of the most modern radio-oncology techniques (IMRT, VMAT). The investment is an important element of the strategy of the Specialist Hospital. The number of oncological procedures performed in all departments is constantly growing. The hospital has well-developed oncological surgery and chemotherapy. The tender announced by the Hospital was won by RTCP, which will build and equip the radiotherapy center at its own expense. The Amethyst Center is scheduled to open at the end of this year.

At the ceremony on April 3, the Amethyst network was represented by, among others, Ludovic Robert, member of the supervisory board of Amethyst Medical Center. During the presentation he spoke, among others: about international scientific cooperation, global oncology centers where network employees will undergo internships and operational standards. – We build and organize all radiotherapy centers in accordance with the requirements of the Organization of European Cancer Institutes – he emphasized during his speech.
